Chapter 1 is the 1st chapter of Deep Clear, a Kodocha spin-off manga that crosses over Kodocha, and Honey Bitter. In it, the characters of Kodocha are in their 20s.
Summary[]
Sana Kurata (now 26) goes to Office S (a detective agency) to gather information she can use to inform her portrayal of a lady detective she'll be playing the role of in a drama. She ends up befriending Shuri Otokawa, a detective who can read people's minds. Unbeknownst to Sana, her manager Rei requests an investigation on Akito Hayama, whom Sana's been married to for three years, though they recently separated - and Rei wants to know why.
Plot[]
Shuri and Yohta make idle talk about how Yohta hurt his hip playing darts with some friends from high school, when they receive a call from a potential client for their detective agency. A few minutes later, the client shows up and it's Rei Sagami (with Sana Kurata in tow). Yohta is star struck, and Shuri is amused.
The four discuss, where Sana explains she's being cast in a drama in the role of a detective - so she'd like to talk to real life detectives in order to play the role well. Shuri lets Sana know she'll pass the request onto her director, and hopes it will be approved so they can meet again.
Shuri, Yohta, and Nijihara gossip about Sana, where the group is shocked to learn that even Nijihara knows who Sana thanks to her fame. Meanwhile, Saho approves of the request, and assigns Shuri to be the one handling it.
Meanwhile, Rei arrives at Office S by himself: asking for them to secretly investigate if Sana's husband Akito is having an affair. It's explained that they got married when they were twenty-three (and that Sana's legal last name is Hayama, though she still uses Kurata in acting), but somewhat recently they stopped living together. Rei has tried to ask Sana what happened, but she's brushed it off - which has made him worry (especially at the idea he might be having an affair). Saho accepts the case, and tells Shuri she's in charge of both of them.
