Summary[]
The group starts Junior High, and Sana becomes fast friends with a classmate named Fuka.
Plot[]
It's the first day of Junior High, and Rei warns Sana she'll be late to her first day, causing her to trim her bangs too short. At school she meets with Tsuyoshi, Aya, and Akito (who teases her on her bangs). As she and the other classmates from her sixth grade class congregate, students that didn't go to elementary school with are surprised that they'll be going to class alongside a celebrity. The group learns that Sana is in class 8, unlike Akito, Tsuyoshi, and Aya who are all in class 1.
Still upset about her bangs, Sana tries to fix them in the bathroom but finds that another girl is in the same predicament. The girl recognizes Sana from TV, and introduces herself as Fuka Matsui, and as it turns out, they're in the same class.
They go to the opening ceremony, and then class. In class Sana is asked by classmates if she could give them autographs, and Fuka tells them to treat Sana normally. Sana is happy to have a friend who speaks her mind, when she learns of a fight going on outside (which she immediately [and correctly] assumes involves Akito).
She stops the fight, and Akito explains that the fight started because the other boy asked Akito if he could introduce him to Sana (since he saw them talking) and that he's a big fan of Sana's, and that when Akito said no, he got mad and the fight started. Akito comments that it's hard for him that it's hard (for him) that total strangers know who she is and like her, and decides to take a nap in the nurses office and tells Sana to wake him up in an hour. Sana thinks on everything that's happened between she and Akito, and wonders how they'll change now that they're in junior high, before falling asleep too. A nurse wakes them up sometime later, and they run home together.
The next day, Fuka explains to Sana how she used to live in Tokyo, but moved to Osaka after kindergarten, and has only just now moved back to Tokyo, which is good timing since it means she can go to the same junior high her mom went to. Some boys eavesdrop on their conversation, and Fuka cusses them out which Sana joins in on.Later, Sana thinks about how happy she is to have Fuka as a new friend, as Rei drives her to an acting gig.
At lunch the next day, Sana is getting lunch with Fuka when she runs into Akito, Sana introduces the two, and Fuka's attitude immediately changes (escalating to her slapping him). She yells at him about how he stole her first kiss, while Akito looks confused, Tsuyoshi comes to alleviate the situation and Fuka recognizes him too (meanwhile Tsuyoshi just tries to start a light conversation). Akito finally remembers her, and Sana looks on confused as the chapter comes to an end.

Author's Notes[]
My Mistake - Part II:
"This is how that page originally appeared in Ribon Magazine. But a sharp reader pointed out to me that in this scene they were shown at school on October 10th which in Japan is a big holiday called "Health & Sports Day".
(It commemorates the 1964 Tokyo Olympics!) I had planned the middle birthday out perfectly, but because of it, I made a mistake in my story! I'm bad. Hee-hee. (Somebody, spank me!) So, for this collection I rewrote the scene so they wouldn't be in class on a day off. But now I've revealed my secret to you all! Thanks for catching this for me, guys!"
Thank you❤❤❤: Alright, this is my last visit with you in this volume. Kodocha has been going for 3 years now thanks to all you fans! The characters have only aged a year, of course, but that's alright, I think I'm doing all their aging for them! Hmph. Oops, there I go again! (Hee hee!) Sorry. Ahem. Now that they're in junior high, the main themes will probably be romance, the subtle growth of mind and body, and human relationships (both normal and abnormal). I'll work hard, so stay with me, guys. I'll see you in book 5!" - Signed Miho Obana, December 1995
